Safer Working Practices 2015

Safer Working Practices has now been updated by the Safer Recruitment Consortium made up of NSPCC, Lucy Faithfull Foundation, National Association of Special Schools and Child Protection in Education foundation. The guidance has been brought up-to-date with all the changes to legislation and guidance, and now includes new sections on:

  • Educational visits
  • Personal Living accommodation inc. onsite provision
  • Overnight Supervision and Examinations
  • Curriculum (sensitive topics)
  • Whistle-blowing

While it is pre-dominantly aimed at the education sector, the document nonetheless offers practical safeguarding steps on a range of issues that are relevant to all those working directly with children.  It is a useful reminder to adults that they are responsible for their actions to keep children safe.

It is well-worth all organisations ensuring that their staff can access this useful document and that it is discussed in personal development reviews and induction processes.
