Learning Lessons from Local Cases

Working Together 2015 encourages LSCBs to take opportunities to reflect on local practice by reviewing a range of childcare cases and not simply focusing on those that meet the threshold for a Serious Case Review.  The guidance states that reviews of such cases can provide useful insights into the way organisations are working together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

As part of Bolton Safeguarding Children Board’s commitment to developing safeguarding practice in Bolton,  we are now producing regular ‘Lessons Learned’ briefings.  The briefings will focus on key learning points from local reviews or learning from reviews carried out in other areas.  If you want to know more about the Learning and Improvement process in Bolton then follow the link to Bolton’s Learning and Improvement .

Our first two briefings are now available for you to read and to take the lessons learned into your practice.

Briefing 1 – Learning from the experiences of a Looked After Child

Briefing 2 – Analysing the impact of missing appointments

We are keen to know if these briefings are useful and if you have any comments or queries please contact us
