Bolton Safeguarding Children Board has today published the findings from a Serious Case Review following the sad death of a young person. Once again we extend our condolences to family and friends at this time.
While the review identified a number of good practice points, it did highlight a number of areas where lessons could be learned including:-
- Improving responses to children where persistent absence is a concern; ensuring that multi-agency assessments and plans are in place
- Working with families who are resistant to help
The Board has accepted and endorsed the recommendations made during the review and has been working to ensure that agencies are responding. A summary of the progress made to date has also been published along with two learning briefings; Learning Brief 3 and Learning Brief 4.
