Bolton Opportunities Event

This annual event is being held at Firwood High School on the 22nd October 2014. It is aimed at all 14-25 year olds who have Special Educational Needs/Disabilities and their parents/carers.

Over 35 local organisations and services including health, education, care, leisure, employment, voluntary sectors and many more will be attending. This year’s event is also being supported by the Bolton Parent/Carer Consortium.

Each event in the past has been well-represented and attended, receiving very positive feedback from users and providers alike. It is rare to find so many providers under one roof and is therefore an ideal opportunity to discover some of things that go on in Bolton for young people with additional needs.

This is the events 3rd year with each year bigger than the last.

In addition to providers being available in the main hall, this year there will also be two workshops running concurrently at 1.15PM and repeated at 5PM. One will be on implications of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Reforms for post-16 provision; the other on Bolton’s Local Offer.

Please pass on the word to individuals or groups and perhaps drop by yourself.
