Is someone hurting you or your friend?
Child abuse can mean a lot of different things such as neglect, physical, emotional or sexual abuse – it’s not always easy to know if you or someone you know is being abused. If you are worried about your own or someone else’s safety the best place to start is to talk to a trusted adult – this may be a family member, a teacher, a mentor, a youth worker or someone else that you know and feel safe with.
If you can’t do this then you can contact us and we will pass on your details to a childrens social work team who will make contact with you:
Email – [email protected]
Phone – 01204 337479
Childline can also help – they will talk to you about what’s worrying you and look at what help they can give you. You can visit their website to find out more about them at www.ChildLine.org.uk or ring them for free on 08001111.
Remember – if you or someone you know is being abused in any way, then the most important thing to do is tell someone about it.
