The purpose of this guide is to encourage those completing Early Help forms to assess as they would normally do to gather all relevant information for the child and family and then if a specialist service is required to check the entry for that service and make sure that all the information they need is included on the form. The benefits of this are:
- Services using the Early Help form shouldn’t need to fill in additional referral paperwork
- Information is provided to support faster allocation of staff/services as the service doesn’t need to go back to the family/referring service for information that is already known
- Information is provided about what has already been delivered and I’s effectiveness to avoid ‘start again patterns’
- Better service experience for families
At the moment, there are 5 services included in the guide. Our intention is to add to this as services give us the specific information they need . It will be updated as required so keep checking back.
