Parents’ CSE Awareness Day
On 13 May 2015, Project Phoenix is holding a child sexual exploitation awareness day targeted at parents throughout Greater Manchester. This is to help parents understand what child sexual exploitation is and to recognise the signs.
Full details of all activities are available via http://www.itsnotokay.co.uk/parents/
Two key events will be taking place on the day:
- PCSO’s will be holding a drop in session to discuss CSE and Human Trafficking on 13/05/15, 1:00pm-2:30pm at Crompton Children Centre, Chalfont Street, Bolton
- An ‘ask me anything’ webchat with a mum whose child was groomed by an older ‘friend’. This brave lady has come forward and agreed to take part so that other parents can ask questions and benefit from her difficult experience. Also at the chat will be an expert from PACE UK – parents against child sexual exploitation – and a social worker.
In addition to this Bolton Safeguarding Children Board have produced a briefing that can be shared with parents to increase their knowledge about what CSE is, what to look for and what to do if they are worried – you can access this here.
